Outside Reading

The Friday Night Knitting Club
By: Kate Jacobs
(pages 1-16)

The book that I have just started is The Friday Night Knitting Club. So far in the book, the main character, Georgia, introduced details about her yarn shop in New York City. She told about her daughter, Dakota, and an old lady, Anita who works in her store. The first chapter also explained how this Friday night knitting club just kind of happened. They would normally have a few people come in to the store later at night and eventually they people just kind of hung around and started talking and now it is a weekly thing. There was a quote made by Anita in the reading that said " You have a gift, my dear, and I have an eye for talent." The significance of this quote is that Georgia really is gifted when it comes to knitting and that is why she has this yarn store and this is how she has connected with so many people. Anita started to work and the store and over the years Anita and Georgia have became rather close.
