Caringbridge: Brett Hansen-Begg

By: Greta & Alan Hansen-Begg

Brett's final release date from the hospital is coming into clear view!! Since Christmas Brett's dad, Alan has been staying at the hospital so he can get used to the cares for Brett that he is going to have to do once Brett is home. Brett loves being around his dad and has a good time messing around, his happy moods and positive energy has been a result of that. Brett is completely off his sleeping medicines and is sleeping all on his own from about 9 at night to around 6 in the morning. A draw back with Brett's brain injury is that he is having problems with his short term memory. He asks quite frequently about the accident that happened that got him to where he is now, and for a period of time he thought that he was the one driving the car when it happened. So Greta is there to help make things clear for him and understand what did happen. Tori, Sarah and I went to the hospital the other day to see him! I was so amazed at how much Brett is back to the Brett that I remember. He was typing out jokes to us, we were dancing, and laughing and having a good time. He also was telling us how excited he is go to home for good, and go back to school on the 5th of January. I am so proud of him and all the accomplishments that he has made and I can not even imagine how soon and how far he will make it, and I am so excited to be with him through it all.
