Caring Bridge: Brett Hansen-Begg

Now that Brett is home his mom, Greta, has not been updating the blog site as much as she did when she was at the hospital. But she still keeps updates almost everyday, but they just are not as detailed. A normal day for Brett is going to school in the morning at Watertown-Mayer High school then in the afternoon he is at Waconia Therapy Center. During therapies he works on OT and PT. His speech is getting better than it was before, but it is still pretty hard to understand what he is trying to say so he is using his link key board still for the majority of his communication, but his mom will challenge him sometimes to try to use his voice along with his link to converse with people. That has been a great challenge for Brett. Just this past weekend a few of my friends and I went to go visit him. It was so great to see him at home and in such a normal environment. When we were there Greta helped Brett walk across the living room and give us all standing hugs and we even got a picture with Tori and Molly supporting Brett standing up right. This boy is one of the most determined people I know, he has so many reasons to keep fighting and make a wonderful recovery.
